Amazon may be planning its third ‘big’ round of layoffs in a year: 14,000 jobs cuts expected across these teams
Amazon may be planning another round of layoffs in May 2026, potentially affecting around 14,000 employees globally.
The cuts are expected to primarily target white-collar workers and mid-level management at job levels L5 through L7, across divisions including AWS, retail, and human resources.
This would be Amazon's third major reduction in under a year, following the elimination of 30,000 corporate roles since October 2025.
