Voters in Hackney have had their say in the 2026 mayoral election.
The elected mayor will provide leadership and direction to Hackney London Borough Council and has overall responsibility for policy and services.
Before the election, the post was held by Labour's Caroline Woodley, who was elected in a 2023 by-election.
The position of Mayor of Hackney was established in 2002.
In the 2026 contest a total of five candidates stood for election as mayor of the London borough, including Ms Woodley who stood for re-election.
Voters in Hackney have also elected 57 councillors to Hackney London Borough Council in the local elections.
Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday, May 7, with the count taking place on Friday, May 8.
Results for the Hackney mayoral election are due from 1pm.
Mayoral elections have taken place in six areas.
Local elections have also been held on the same day with more than 5,000 council seats up for grabs across 136 local authorities in England.
