In Venezuela, the earthquake's death toll continues to rise.
More than 40,000 people are still reported missing.
Part of the city of La Guaira, about thirty kilometres north of Caracas, has been completely destroyed.
On the ground, rescue workers — but also families themselves — are searching through the rubble for bodies of their loved ones still trapped.
