Bryson DeChambeau has withdrawn from the final round of LIV Golf Mexico City due to a wrist injury.
He was aiming to become the first player to win three consecutive times on LIV Golf.
DeChambeau started poorly at Chapultepec Golf Club and was 16 shots behind Jon Rahm when he withdrew.
He shared on social media that he experienced discomfort and decided to withdraw to prevent further injury.
He plans to be evaluated and hopes to compete at LIV Golf Virginia in May.
Rahm took a two-shot lead into the final round.
LIV announced a return to Chapultepec next year.
