Ukrainians mark 40th anniversary of Chernobyl disaster

Ukrainians in Slavutych on Sunday honoured the men and women whose mission it was to clean up the worst nuclear accident in history.

People streamed in from different parts of the city to place candles on a large radiation hazard symbol as they marked the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster
