Boy hospitalized after shooting in Austin

A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized after suffering multiple gunshot wounds early Sunday, police said.

The boy was in the 5500 block of West Van Buren Street at about 1:23 a.m. when he was shot.

Police said the boy took himself to Loretto Hospital, where Chicago Fire personnel transferred him to Stroger Hospital.

The boy was listed in fair condition, police said.

Area Four Detectives are investigating.
