Conservative shadow defence secretary James Cartlidge says the Chagos Islands deal is "pretty much at an end" after failing to progress through Parliament.
Cartlidge claims this represents a 'major U-turn' by the government, arguing the deal would have been 'foolish' and cost £35 billion for British territory.
