‘THE UK IS DYING’ Trump swipes at ‘EXTREMELY LIBERAL’ Burnham as Starmer exit row grows

Irish Mirror Irish Mirror — 8min

Donald Trump took a swipe at Andy Burnham during a White House meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, admitting he did not know much about him before describing the Labour figure as “extremely liberal”.

Trump then issued a blunt warning over Britain’s future, claiming “the UK is dying” while criticising energy policy, immigration, crime and the decision not to expand North Sea oil drilling.

The US President also praised NATO’s increased defence spending, discussed Europe’s role in US military operations, and said he had been “disappointed with the UK” and other allies.

His comments come as questions grow around Keir Starmer’s future and Andy Burnham’s possible rise to power, adding fresh tension to the UK political debate.
