Mentally ill teen’s ‘imitation act’ with knife leads to 8-year-old sister’s death in Thane

A tragic incident in Mumbra saw a 16-year-old boy, diagnosed with schizophrenia, booked for culpable homicide after fatally stabbing his 8-year-old sister.

While mimicking a sword-fighting video, he accidentally struck her.

The girl succumbed to her injuries after four days of intensive care.

Police registered the case on behalf of the state.
