SBI to digitise legacy stressed asset monitoring to boost recoveries

SBI is digitising its last remaining manual business vertical—tracking of legacy stressed assets—via a new system expected to go live by January 2027.

The move comes as the bank's asset quality has improved sharply, though a sizeable pool of older bad loans, mostly unclassified, remains.
