2 people, including CPD officer, hospitalized after Garfield Ridge crash

Two people, including a Chicago police officer, were hospitalized after a crash in Garfield Ridge Thursday afternoon, according to police.
An officer in an unmarked squad car was traveling southbound in the 6400 block of West Archer Avenue at 4:39 p.m. when the vehicle was struck near a parking lot by a 38-year-old man driving a sedan, police said.
The officer was taken to a nearby hospital in fair condition with a neck injury.
A passenger in the sedan, a 36-year-old woman, was taken to MacNeal Hospital in fair condition with right arm and leg injuries, police said.
The driver of the sedan declined medical attention.
No citations were issued.
