U.K. authorities investigating Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor now say they could investigate allegations of sexual misconduct as part of their inquiry.
British police say they're looking at a range of behaviours that fall under the offence of misconduct in public office, which can also include abuse of position and corruption, among other things.
The former prince has consistently denied wrongdoing in relation to his association with the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and has denied receiving any personal benefit from his time as a U.K. trade envoy.
As Global’s international correspondent Vincent McAviney reports, depending on the information detectives receive, the prospect of charges against Andrew could plunge the Royal family into an unprecedented crisis.
