Two Manchester MPs who were rumoured to be considering stepping aside for Andy Burnham have denied any such plans.
Greater Manchester's mayor is regarded as a popular candidate to replace Sir Keir Starmer as Labour's leader and Prime Minister.
Both Withington MP Jeff Smith and Rusholme MP Afzal Khan have now spoken out over rumours saying they will not be stepping aside.
