In the calm after severe storms across Manitoba Tuesday, Environment Canada's weather radar and notification systems are under scrutiny.
A group of the country's top weather experts say the dismantling of a severe weather research group, just before storm season began, has compromised the effectiveness of weather detection equipment and even puts lives at risk.
And those storm alerts Manitobans complained were too frequent and vague, the group says are a symptom of cuts too.
