Richard Glossip granted bond by Oklahoma judge, awaits new trial
Former death row inmate Richard Glossip has been granted bond by an Oklahoma judge who ruled Thursday that Glossip could be freed from jail while awaiting a new trial for a 1997 killing.
Glossip has come perilously close to execution three separate times in the nearly 30 years he has spent behind bars.
He has long insisted he is innocent in the murder of his former boss, Oklahoma motel owner Barry Van Treese.
The U.S. Supreme Court threw out Glossip's conviction and death sentence last year.
