Sacked civil servant Olly Robbins reveals 'constant pressure' to get Mandelson in post

Sacked Foreign Office chief Sir Oliver Robbins tells MPs he faced "constant pressure" to get Peter Mandelson appointed as US ambassador without proper vetting.

Robbins painted a picture of No 10 wanting Mandelson in at any cost, despite security concerns, leaving Starmer accused of scapegoating a civil servant for his own error.
