Avalanche rely on depth, MacKinnon to reach conference finals for 8th time since arriving in Denver

The Colorado Avalanche advanced to the Western Conference final after a thrilling comeback win against the Minnesota Wild.

They erased a three-goal deficit in Game 5 to win 4-3 in overtime, thanks to Brett Kulak's goal.

This marks the eighth time the Avalanche have reached the conference final since moving to Denver before the 1995-96 season.

The Presidents' Trophy-winning Avalanche, led by stars like Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, enter each season with high expectations.

It’s just the second time in the last nine playoff appearances the Avalanche made it past the second round.

On the other occasion, in 2022, the team went on capture the Stanley Cup title.
