In a major reversal, Iran has declared the Strait of Hormuz closed, less than 24 hours after it announced the critical waterway was “completely open.” It comes as Iran allegedly opened fire on two ships attempting to pass through the strait.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said the closure is a response to the continuing U.S. Navy blockade on Iranian ports.
