Despite praise, Chad to withdraw from the International Criminal Court

Chad announced that it is withdrawing from the Rome Statute and, therefore, from the International Criminal Court, as several other countries in the Sahel region have done.

In an official statement, Chad’s government criticised the ICC’s alleged partiality, arguing that most of its investigations have concerned the African continent.
