North Korea says it test-launched ballistic missiles armed with cluster-bomb warheads for the second time this month.
The state media report Monday came a day after South Korea and other countries detected multiple ballistic launches from the North Korean eastern coast.
The testing underscores North Korean efforts to expand its capabilities to penetrate U.S. and South Korean defenses.
State media said leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the launches of five upgraded Hwasong-11 Ra ballistic missiles with cluster bomb warheads and fragmentation mine warheads.
Photos showed Kim observed the launches with his teenage daughter.
