Starmer fails to deny cabinet split over handling of Mandelson vetting scandal

Keir Starmer has failed to deny there is a split in the cabinet over his handling of the allegations around Peter Mandelson's vetting.

The prime minister has come under huge pressure over his judgement, after it was revealed that Mandelson effectively failed security checks before becoming the US ambassador - and that the PM was in the dark about the whole thing until last week.

Asked if there is a split, Starmer avoided directly answering the question.
