A British couple jailed in Iran on spying charges have lost an appeal against their convictions.
Craig and Lindsay Foreman were detained in January 2025 during a motorcycle trip and later sentenced to 10 years for espionage, which they deny.
On Tuesday, Britain’s Foreign Office said it was disappointed by the court decision and called their incarceration “unjustified and appalling.” Officials have been providing consular assistance, including prison visits and family calls.
Lindsay Foreman’s son said neither detainee was allowed to attend the appeal hearing and both have begun hunger strikes.
He said the case now moves to Iran’s Supreme Court, but the process remains unclear.
