‘Iran begged for this ceasefire’ says Pete Hegseth

US secretary of defence Pete Hegseth says Iran “begged for this ceasefire” and says Operation Epic Fury “decimated” Iran’s military.

Hegseth claims the US and Israel "achieved every single objective on plan, on schedule, exactly as laid out from day one".

He says last night the US launched a wave of more than 800 strikes that "finished completely destroying Iran's defence industrial base, a core pillar of our mission objective".
