The Ottawa defence industrial strategy debate intensified as Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced a plan tied to the global defence security and resilience bank bid.
CTV’s Dylan Dyson reports that Ford unveiled the strategy at CANSEC in Ottawa, alongside defence and tech companies at the COHERE Centre.
The plan aims to add more than 43,000 jobs in Ontario over the next 10 years, while Ottawa, Toronto and other cities compete to host the new defence bank.
Mayor Mark Sutcliffe says Ottawa–Gatineau is the ideal location as political leaders across Canada continue lobbying for the project.
