Manitoba has declared a public health emergency over its rising number of HIV cases.
The provinces’ Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin says a level of urgency is needed to address the issue.
Up to 70 per cent of new HIV cases are linked to drug injections.
There were 120 new cases reported in the first quarter of 2026.
Global’s Katherine Dornian reports.
