Conflict, migration, aid cuts and community anger make it hard to stop the Ebola outbreak in Congo

Experts say several crises combine to make the Ebola outbreak in eastern Congo difficult to contain.

They include violence linked to armed rebel groups, the displacement of a large number of people, the failure of local government and international aid cuts that have devastated health facilities.

Arson attacks on two Ebola treatment centers in Congo show another complication for health and aid workers: a backlash of anger in local communities.

Health authorities say there are more than 700 suspected cases and more than 170 suspected deaths in the outbreak but warn it's likely much bigger and spreading fast.
