A couple had a frightening encounter with a bear while walking their dog on a trail outside Banff.
The bear followed the woman's husband as he backed away while facing the animal, while she urged him to get off the trail.
The couple eventually scared the bear back into the woods and escaped unharmed, describing the experience as "terrifying."
