At the M.E.N's Makerfield hustings, Mayor of Greater Manchester and Labour candidate Andy Burnham pledged to keep his 15% homeless charity donation if he is elected as MP.

Five candidates were present at the hustings: Jake Austin (Liberal Democrats), Andy Burnham (Labour), Rob Kenyon (Reform UK), Sarah Wakefield (Green Party) and Michael Winstanley (Conservatives).

Ballots are set to be cast in the by-election on June 18, which was triggered by the resignation of Labour MP Josh Simons.
