Lynx star Collier will likely miss first month of season for ankle rehab

Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier will likely miss the first month of the WNBA regular season to complete her rehabilitation following left ankle surgery.

The Lynx said the five-time All-Star’s rehab was progressing as expected with an anticipated return to on-court activity in early June.

Collier had the procedure done on March 24.

Minnesota opens the regular season on May 10 against Atlanta and has eight games in May with three on the schedule during the first week in June.

The 29-year-old Collier averaged a career-high 22.9 points per game last season.

She injured her ankle during the WNBA semifinals.
