Infant dies after delay at Israeli checkpoint; teenager killed during raid on Qalandiya Camp

A four-month-old Palestinian infant died on Sunday after his family prevented from reaching a hospital by Israeli forces at a military checkpoint west of Ramallah, according to Palestinian officials.

Separately, a 16-year-old Palestinian was killed during an Israeli military raid on Qalandiya refugee camp, north of Jerusalem.

Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governor Laila Ghannam said doctors at the Arab Specialized Hospital declared the death of Ahmed Marouf Zeid, a four-month-old infant, after Israeli forces delayed his family’s passage for more than an hour at a military checkpoint at the entrance to the village of Deir Ammar.

According to Ghannam, the infant was being transported for urgent medical treatment when Israeli soldiers prevented the family from passing through the checkpoint.
