Ben Gvir visits Al-Aqsa compound, says 'I feel like the owner'
Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has visited the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem.
He was seen in a video posted by his office online at the site, saying: "Today, I feel like the owner here.
"There is still more to do, more to improve.
I keep pushing the prime minister to do more and more - we must keep rising higher and higher."
In response, the Jordanian foreign ministry said Ben Gvir's visit violated the status quo agreement, under which al-Aqsa is administered by a Jordanian foundation.
The foreign ministry said Ben Gvir's visit was a "desecration of its sanctity, a condemnable escalation and an unacceptable provocation".
