Pentagon update on Iran war as Strait of Hormuz deadline looms

US President Donald Trump has set Iran a deadline of 1am UK time on Wednesday to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and threatened Iran with obliteration if it does not comply.

Oil prices rose following Trump's threats, while the IMF has warned that "all roads now lead to higher prices and slower growth" as a result of the Middle East conflict.
