At least 999 people have died from the Ebola outbreak in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and almost two-and-a-half thousand cases have been confirmed.

It's already the fastest Ebola outbreak in history.
Declared in mid-May, it's caused by a rare type of the virus which has no approved treatment or vaccine.
Around 90 % of the cases are in the remote Ituri Province.
