Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to take questions from reporters in Paris on Friday after a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Carney’s six-day visit comes before the 52nd G7 leaders’ summit, which will take place between June 15 and 17 in Évian-les-Bains, with Macron hosting.
Macron’s second term in office is set to end in May 2027, meaning Carney’s bilateral meeting with the French leader could be their last.
Carney is expected to take questions on Canada’s affordability crisis, and comes one day after he announced Ottawa’s new initiative to cut grocery bills with a $3.2 billion food security strategy.
