Drone strike on a busy market in Sudan kills 28, says rights group

A local rights group says a drone strike on a market in central Sudan has killed 28 people and wounded dozens more.

The Emergency Lawyers group blamed the army for Tuesday's attack in the city of Ghubaysh in West Kordofan province.

An army official denies targeting civilians.

The war in Sudan began in April 2023, with tensions between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces erupting into conflict.

The war has killed at least 59,000 people and displaced millions.

Drone warfare has become a major threat, with both sides using drones to control territory and disrupt rivals.
