Drivers frustrated by ByWard Market parking rules

CTV News CTV News — 2min

Hundreds of parking tickets have been issued to drivers after the City of Ottawa introduced a new three-hour limit at a ByWard Market parking garage.

CTV's Tyler Fleming reports that bylaw officers have issued 962 parking tickets at the lot at 70 Clarence Street.

Drivers including Lise Larose-Norris say the time restriction is too short, while businesses such as the Lowertown Pub argue increased turnover is helping attract customers.

The garage is expected to close by the end of 2028 as the city explores redevelopment plans.
