Ukraine Fires 400 Drones, Zelensky Eyes Army Chief Ouster

Ukraine fired more than 400 drones toward Moscow in one of the largest aerial attacks of the war, while Russia responded with missile strikes on Kyiv and a grain vessel near Odessa that killed four Indian seafarers.

President Zelensky is considering replacing Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi with General Mykhailo Drapatyi, according to Bloomberg, amid protests in Kyiv over the sacking of the defence minister.

The Russian defence ministry said it shot down most of the drones, but the attack highlighted Ukraine’s growing long-range strike capability.

The war has now entered day 1,609, with both sides intensifying hostilities.
