Sudan war enters fourth year

Since the conflict began in April 2023, more than 13 million people have been forced to flee their homes, creating what the United Nations calls the world's largest humanitarian crisis.

The ongoing power struggle between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces has decimated civilian infrastructure and left over 30 million people without reliable access to food.

While international attention has shifted toward the Iran war, officials in Sudan lament that the country's suffering has been thrown into the shadow.

The newly pledged funds aim to mitigate the starvation crisis, but experts warn that without a political settlement, the cycle of violence will continue to destabilize the region.
