New Banksy statue in London

New Banksy statue in London

Elusive street artist Banksy has confirmed responsibility for a new sculpture that appeared overnight on a plinth in London's Waterloo Place.

The statue, which depicts a suited figure blinded by a billowing flag as he striding off a platform, has already drawn large crowds of onlookers and sparked intense debate.

Banksy posted a video to social media showing snippets of the installation process, which took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The work is situated near several 19th-century military and colonial monuments, leading many to interpret it as a satirical commentary on contemporary political leadership.
