Tornadoes rip through Midwest

Tornadoes rip through Midwest

Millions of people from Texas to the Great Lakes are under severe weather alerts as a parade of storms continues to move eastward.

In Michigan, two ice arenas and multiple residential structures were heavily damaged by overnight tornadoes, with debris scattered near the University of Michigan campus.

The National Weather Service is currently surveying the damage to determine the exact number of touchdowns and the strength of the winds.

As the cleanup begins, meteorologists warn that the threat of intense hail and additional tornadoes will persist through the weekend.
