Lufthansa Cuts 20,000 Summer Flights

The global airline industry is facing a deepening crisis as jet fuel costs have nearly doubled since the start of the Middle East conflict.

Lufthansa's decision to scrap 20,000 flights through October is an effort to save approximately 40,000 metric tonnes of fuel and mitigate massive financial losses.

Other major airlines, including British Airways, easyJet, and Ryanair, have warned the government that summer holidays could be thrown into chaos without emergency fuel intervention.

Passengers are being warned to expect significant delays, cancellations, and higher ticket prices as the industry grapples with the supply shock.
