Manchester Airport Case Ends

Two brothers accused of assaulting an armed police officer at Manchester Airport will not face a third trial after two previous juries failed to reach verdicts.

The case, which went viral after footage showed an officer kicking a prone man, has been formally dropped by prosecutors.

Mohammed Fahir Amaaz and Muhammad Amaad were acquitted after the Crown Prosecution Service offered no further evidence.

The incident in July 2024 sparked widespread protests and allegations of two-tier policing, while the officer involved remains under investigation by the police watchdog.
