Deadly Shooting at Mexico Pyramids
Terror struck one of Mexico's most famous archaeological sites on Monday as a gunman held tourists hostage atop the Pyramid of the Moon before opening fire.
The assailant, identified as 27-year-old Julio César Jasso, was found with materials related to U.S. school shootings and Adolf Hitler.
Among the injured were six Americans and another Canadian, prompting Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to offer his condolences and demand a full investigation.
The site has been closed indefinitely as Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum calls for stricter security checks at major tourist destinations to prevent similar tragedies.
