Lebanese journalist killed by Israel

The death of Amal Khalil has sent shockwaves through the international press corps as thousands of mourners gathered for her funeral in southern Lebanon.

Rescuers were reportedly prevented from reaching the destroyed building where Khalil was trapped under rubble for hours following the targeted strike.

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam stated that the attack was not an 'isolated incident' and accused the Israeli military of systematically targeting journalists to suppress coverage of the war.

Israel has denied the allegations, stating that its forces only target military objectives and that the incident is under review.
