Lebanese journalist killed by Israel

The death of journalist Amal Khalil has sparked international condemnation and intensified calls for a permanent ceasefire in Lebanon.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam alleged that the strike was a deliberate attempt to silence media workers covering the conflict.

Israel has stated it is reviewing the incident, which occurred despite a fragile 10-day truce.

Khalil is the latest of at least 14 journalists killed in Lebanon since the war began in February.
