Deaf Presenter Stranded on Everest

Deaf BBC presenter Michael Woods faced a life-threatening ordeal after becoming stranded in Mount Everest's 'death zone' near the Hillary Step.

Woods, who had successfully reached the summit to demonstrate the capabilities of people with disabilities, lost contact with his Sherpa during the descent.

He remained alone at extreme altitude for several hours before rescue efforts were coordinated.

The incident has raised serious questions about safety protocols and communication challenges for disabled climbers on the world's highest peak.
