Artemis II Medical Data
The crew's re-entry through the atmosphere at 30 times the speed of sound created a fireball half as hot as the sun, testing the limits of the spacecraft's heat shield and the physical endurance of the astronauts.
Medical teams are conducting extensive tests on the crew to study the effects of radiation exposure and microgravity on bone density and cardiovascular health.
This information will be vital for planning future long-duration missions to the lunar surface and eventually Mars.
NASA officials noted that the astronauts appear 'happy and healthy,' but the long-term analysis of their biological samples will take months to complete.
