Sudan food crisis deepens

Many displaced families in North Darfur and South Kordofan have resorted to eating leaves and animal feed to survive.

The ongoing conflict has destroyed local agriculture and blocked vital aid routes, leaving over 32 million people at risk of falling into extreme poverty.

The United Nations has described the situation as 'development in reverse,' with the economic fallout from the war erasing decades of progress.

Aid organizations have called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire to prevent a mass famine.
