Cannes Film Festival Lineup Revealed

Artistic director Thierry Frémaux announced 21 films in competition for the coveted Palme d’Or, including a surprising number of documentaries focused on football.

Notable stars expected to walk the red carpet include John Travolta, Gillian Anderson, and Scarlett Johansson.

The festival will also feature the directorial debut of James McAvoy and a new sci-fi epic from director Brad Bird.

While the American 'razzle-dazzle' may be dialed down, the lineup promises a diverse array of historical dramas and experimental narratives from around the globe.
