Oxford Launches Ebola Vaccine Trial
Oxford University has begun the world's first human trial of a vaccine against the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola, developed in just eight weeks after a deadly outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The outbreak has now spread to five provinces, making it the fastest-growing in history, while a U.S. patient is in isolation in Germany.
In a further complication, the AFC/M23 rebels have used the outbreak in territory under their control to showcase their governing credentials, mounting a response largely separate from authorities in Kinshasa.
The vaccine trial is being hailed as 'British science at its finest.'
